– D-ribose: it is a monosaccharide carbohydrate involved in the cellular energy production processes in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) in the Krebs cycle.
D-ribose is contained in all cells and is an essential component of cellular RNA (ribonucleic acid), which in turn is involved in the process of protein synthesis. It is recommended to take D-ribose before physical activity to increase athletic performance, especially when performing repetitive, high intensity and short duration exercises.
